Hello, to all of my new subscribers👋🏾! Glad to have you here. My newsletter has been recommended by some great fellow writers. Folks should also check them out:
- La Yapa
- The Radical Database
- The Practical Polymath
- Coconuts & Kimchi
- no frills vegan
- New Worlder

This newsletter is a bit late, so my apologies! I've had a crazy work schedule this week filming Taste The Nation with Padma Lakshmi (I'm her assistant on set). 5 am wake-up calls and long days have unfortunately pushed Food For Thought. on the back burner this week.

I do want to say that we are officially done with the B's for Eating A-Z in NYC!!

Happy Star Trek GIF

The video at the beginning of the newsletter is a glimpse of all the places we’ve visited. We powered through so many countries starting with the Bahamas and ending with Burundi. Our next destination is Cambodia. If you'd like to get in on the sweet Eating A-Z action then now's a good time to be a paid subscriber. Paid subscribers get every single country that I visit including recipes, videos, and restaurant highlights.
For one week only the annual subscription is 25% off!

Substack’s Food Writers Intensive

I am learning so much in the Food Writers Intensive. The other fellows in my cohort are so talented, earnest, and smart. There's so much of what we discuss that I cannot wait to implement here at Food For Thought. One of the fellows is releasing her long-awaited cookbook Africana. You should grab your copy now (pre-orders help writers with sales!). Don't be afraid to cook in metric and get down with Lerato's delicious dishes celebrating African cuisine. You can also check out her substack Cook With Lerato.

Fun For Thought.
Had these delicious mochi donuts from Mochinut in the East Village this week. Some of the flavors were black sesame (my fave!), Vietnamese coffee, passion fruit, ube, taro + churro. These donuts were chewy + fluffy at the same time. Such a delight!

Almost too pretty to eat.

Last week I got to do one of my favorite things which is to meet up and eat with new folks. I got to have lunch with an amazing and super talented subscriber Sarah Yeoman. She is the creator behind The Family Cookbook Newsletter where she creates custom cookbooks for families who want to preserve their food heritage and documents it for her newsletter. We chatted about food, life, work, and everything else in between over burgers, fries + shakes.

We were so deep in conversation and food that we almost forgot to take a picture!

I’m always up to grab coffee and chat just let me know!

Cook. Eat. Repeat.

Natalie 💗✨
