This week I’m away for more work travel. This time I somehow found 36 hours to myself before embarking on a crazy work schedule. I decided to soak in some culture and do the most as usual by eating too much food. Enjoy the photos of my touristic wanderings.
Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

This museum had such a cool collection of cars. I haven't seen this many since I visited the Daimler-Benz Museum in Berlin ages ago.
This museum had a couple of planes inside. It's that big of a place. Look at those tiny people in the back for scale 😲.
Fun fact: I've seen the Weiner mobile four random times in my life. And every time I do I get excited and shake whoever is next to me to make sure they're seeing the same thing too. It's like seeing a unicorn 🦄 in nature 😂.
The museum had several of these Mold-A-Rama's where you can make your own plastic toys. I decided to make a Weiner mobile so that I can give one away to a subscriber!

Detroit Institute of Arts.
Diego Rivera's famous ode to Motor City. He has a whole courtyard with wall to ceiling murals. So much detail that you can get lost in it.

The Food.
Detroit Style 🍕 from Buddy's the originator of the square style pizza. Very much like a Sicilian but I think it's better because the crust is buttery and a bit crunchy plus the Wisconsin cheese they use is out of this world!
Ignore my crappy chipping nail polish and behold the glory that is pistachio cheesecake 😋 from Cannoli's Pastry.
Softest sponge cake with layers of Lotus cookie whipped cream. Lotus cookies are like Biscoff spiced cookies that you get on the plane. This was also from Cannoli's Pastry…you only live once so make sure you get TWO desserts.
The temperature dropped so I got gumbo from Joe Louis Southern Kitchen.
Can't not have fries! Also from Joe's.
Fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw and Joe's Brown sauce.
