Where I’ve Been.
I’m officially back from a hot week of work in the Arizona desert. NYC weather has given me zero relief from the heat and it feels like I’m going to melt into a puddle. I won’t be leaving my house from now until mid-September. Call me when it’s sweater weather.
What’s Going On.
Last week Substack published the Food Intensive fellows’ guide to food and drinks writing. We all contributed a bit to the guide, so definitely check it out. It’s also a great resource that can be used for folks who aren’t writing about food.

Sunday, August 28th at 3 PM we’ll be having our Food For Thought. summer meet-up in Central Park. Bring a blanket and shareable snacks. This event is open to ALL subscribers. I will give out specific directions on where we’ll meet in the park closer to the date.
Archive Time.
I’ve been itching to open up my paid subscriber posts to free subscribers. There are some great recipes, stories, photos, and podcasts that I have shared in those newsletters that I think are worthy of opening up to everyone. I don’t hound my readers to become paid subscribers, but I would like you to see the value in what you’re missing.
In the upcoming weeks, we’ll be traveling to Chad, Chile, and China (you definitely don’t want to miss China…that’s a two-part newsletter). I also have A LOT of exciting news to share about my cookbook…things are finally happening!!! I’ll be sharing that news next week.
I’ll be leaving these posts open to the public for the month of August. On September 1st they will turn back into paid subscriber posts.
Paid Subscribers: I’ll see you Friday with one of my favorite recipes for Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies…these will blow your socks off!!!
Cook. Eat. Repeat.
