Hey Mia! I suspect that it may have possibly come over after WWII when lots of Eastern Europeans came to South America specifically Argentina for refuge. It may not have looked like that specific salad but maybe something similar?

That’s what I’m thinking too. Aside from the meat choices, it does look strikingly similar to what Soviet refugees would have been eating before leaving.

Always wanted to try steak from Argentina but this review really took my curiosity to another level. Cant wait to try these dishes.

I didn’t realize there were so many different types of steak and sausage! Argentine food looks amazing, I think I need to try some of that steak! Thanks for sharing! 😊

Fun read. Morcilla is delicious and sounds much better than its English 'blood sausage'.

How do you find your restaurants? Do you have a search process or just take recs/word of mouth?

I research the cuisine first then research a list of restaurants and go through their menus and make sure it correlates to the actual cuisine then look for the one that looks the most interesting + off the beaten path! ☺️

I love off the beaten path spots. Just ate here today. You have to split the sandwich, though: Pisillo Italian Panini @97 Nassau St.

They have two locations: one in NYC, one an hour outside of Naples!
